Transport Infrastructure

Kingsway Business Park is a prime strategic location from which to do business, with unrivalled access to the entire Manchester city region, the UK, mainland Europe and the rest of the world.

Greater Manchester is ranked first in the UK for accessibility and the region's sophisticated and efficient transport infrastructure has been a major factor in attracting significant new investment to the North West and in the region's success overall.

Linked directly to the M62 via the newly remodelled Junction 21 and to the North's highly-developed motorway network, the park is just 12 miles from buzzing central Manchester and 45 minutes from Manchester Airport.

Straddled by three major motorways - the M60, M62 and M66 - you can be in Manchester city centre within 30 minutes, and Leeds and Liverpool in an hour.

Plans are also well advanced to open a Metrolink light railway station on Kingsway Business Park in 2012.

We are aware of the growing need to support more sustainable modes of transport to, from and around the business park, which will limit the negative impact on the environment and reduce congestion. A Kingsway Transport Co-ordinator has been appointed and is working with companies and their employees to ensure such transport needs and plans are met for Kingsway. This valuable resource is entirely free and can work with you at the planning stage.

There is an entire section dedicated to travel planning which you can access here.

Kingsway Link

The Kingsway Link bus service is a highly efficient and effective means of getting your employees into work reliably and helps your green credentials too.

The service is available to provide morning and evening journeys between home and work and
for lunch-time journeys to local shops and facilities such as your gym, the swimming pool and
the town centre.

You can read more about this service in the section dedicated to getting here.

Metrolink

The UK's premier light rail network, Metrolink, will be arriving in Rochdale by 2012 offering a fast direct route to Manchester city centre and beyond.

The Metrolink will have dedicated stops both in the £13 million town centre interchange, due to be completed by 2010, and at Kingsway Business Park.

Train

Frequent trains connect Rochdale to the whole region and you won't have to wait more than 20 minutes for a direct train to Manchester.

The Trafford Park World Freight Centre, the largest road/rail interchange outside of London, is just a 30 minute drive from Rochdale.

Bus

Rochdale enjoys direct bus links into Manchester city centre and around the borough and surrounding areas.

Air

Manchester Airport, the largest in the UK outside of London, is just a 45 minute drive from Rochdale. It serves more than 200 destinations throughout the world.

The airport's world freight terminal employs 1,000 people and around 140,000 tonnes of export and import cargo is handled there every year.

Sea

Rochdale is an hour's drive from the port of Liverpool and 90 minutes from Humberside's ports. Liverpool handles more than 30 million tonnes of freight each year and is increasingly becoming a feeder port for Transatlantic cargos. Humberside is home to the UK's main ports for a wide range of European, Scandinavian and Baltic destinations.
